Thanks to my bonus day off work today, I have been able to launch my 2012 skins a few days early! They can be found at my shop and on the Marketplace. I've set the launch price as L$99.
The first skin to be made available is the Natural version. To go with it I am also selling the shape I have made to be a model for this skin. I've called her Isabella, and she's also L$99.

Sneak peek at my 2012 skins
I'm working on several new skin sets for launch in January 2012. All the textures are uploaded, so I'm at the tedious stage of building the skin variants and the even more tedious chore of boxing them up comes next.
I'm still basing my skins on the Starlight PSPs by Another but I've done a lot more work on them this time, including creating an even darker skin tone, so now my skins are available in these shades:
Palest - Uber-goth or vampire
Light - Sunshine avoider, natural goth
Fair -English rose kinda shade
Tan - Living in sunshine
Dark - "Oooh, where's she from?"
Darkest - Rich brown skin
This time I will also be selling a PSP "kit" version.
So here's a sneak peek at some variants in the new shade:

L$99 Outfit Challenge (1)
With L$99 to spend on an outfit, what do you get for your money these days? I challenged Dallandra to find something for her hostess job at Jezebel's, where these photos were taken.
So, you could get this - "Hypnotic" by Secret Passion: (some minor photoshop tweaking)
It's a nice design, and Dallandra will wear it for work. It does have some minor flaws - the seams are a little off in places, and the textures aren't the best of the best, but the biggest problem Dallandra has had is getting the very pretty skirt prim to fit. Every avatar is a different shape, and some tweaking is always necessary, but as you can see in the photos, in order to fit in one direction Dalla has had to make another too big. Possible solutions to this common problem include adjusting your butt size, rebuilding the skirt (if perms allow) or just putting up with it. Dalla has opted for the latter.
On the whole, this looks like a nice outfit with decent textures and only minor seam mismatches, nothing really noticeable. It's given me an idea for a catsuit, too, which I may make this weekend.
Verdict: Recommended.
Please share your L$99 finds!

Dalla's got a brand new skin...
Now, obviously I would prefer my models to wear MY skins, but when Dallandra got this lovely skin from Tutys, I couldn't stay cross! (photograph is completely unphotoshopped, using my light/sky preset for modelling shots)
Tuty's Burlesque Skin is based on the beautiful Dita Von Teese.
Tuty has done a lot with this skin - the cleavage is AMAZING and the makeup is superb. It also comes with teeth tattoos, which aren't really necessary for Dalla because she prefers a smiler. I am advised that she hardly had to tweak her face at all - "just the mouth really, and I took the opportunity to improve my eyes" - to look like herself, if you see what I mean, and her false nail gloves didn't need any adjusting. Now, at L$500 it's way dearer than my skins - which start at L$19 - but I think Tuty has earned the money. It's in many makeups and each purchase includes, as well as the teeth, variations on hairbase/bald, cleavage/normal cleavage for 4 skins in total.
So if you're looking for a new skin, try Tuty's - they have plenty of excellent skins. But have a look at mine first please? :-)

Eve Temptation Jewellery by Pixelfashion (and the shoes, but you can't see them :)
Sonya by Truth Hair (from the Colours pack)
Garoa Red dress by Amulet

Skull Dress Set
I wanted to make a set to go with my new shoes, so what about this?
The Skulls Outfit comprises top, skirt, belt, gloves and shoes. The sculpted prim attachments and shoes have a HUD for ease of resize and tint, and the clothing parts are modify so you can tint to match (or mix).
Just L$249, available at my store in-world or on the Marketplace.

Still my best-selling item...
Dolly Rotten's fabulous Girlhawk, based on my RL hair. Click the image to see each on the Marketplace. I believe this hair sells so well because it is simply cool beyond words (like my RL hair, of course).
Each costs only L$99, and is fully mod so you can edit it using the best tools of all: the SL Edit tools. Tint, resize and customize all you like. It includes the base tattoo.
I am hoping to start work soon on an all-new version of this hair, using sculpts and better textures, and optional HUD control.

Laced Up Ankle Boots
Based on another excellent kit from RedPoly, here are my latest footwear offerings.
There's this canvas-textured version, with a HUD to resize and change the colour of the visible flesh:
And there's this colour-change version, in a "black" finish that you can tint with any colour. The HUD enables you to separately colour the leather, laces, heel, stitching, zip and flesh colours as well as the flesh and resizing.

Welcome to Dolly Rotten's SL Fashion Blog
"Hello, Avatar!"
Welcome to my new blog, to which I will be posting updates about new products in my own Dolly Rotten store, as well as sharing some of my favourite finds from other SL designers and retailers.
A little bit about me: I have been playing Second Life since March 2004, with various guises, and Dolly Quicksand is my fashion brand avatar. My store is called Dolly Rotten, and is for all rotten dollies. My stuff tends to appeal to people who like their avatar to be sexy with a slightly sinister twist.
The model I have been using recently, and who will feature on all new-style branded items, is the lovely Dallandra (Resident). Dallandra is available for hire as a freelance model, event host, and club hostess/dancer.
If any items I sell are based on a kit, I will always give you a link to the kit maker. Some posts may also be accounts of experiences with kits.
